ISO 42001:2023 specifies requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an AI Management System (AIMS) within the context of an organization’s overall business risks and objectives. It extends the process-based framework familiar from other management system standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 27001) to the domain of artificial intelligence, covering the entire AI lifecycle from strategy and design through development, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and retirement.
